Our History
We are a bluegrass-gospel group from Southwest Virginia. Our name tells the
story of where we are from. Chris Proffitt and Travis Proffitt are from Green
Cove, VA, near Whitetop Mountain. Kenny Doss and Tracy Moretz hail from Widener
Valley near Damascus, VA.
We play the old-time traditional style bluegrass and gospel music, influenced
by pioneering artists such as the Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs, Doyle
Lawson & Quicksilver, Jim and Jesse McReynolds and all the old-time gospel
quartets that paved the way. We like to include traditional songs as well as
original material written by band members.
